Hear from our teachers

Ashley Steel

Digital Technologies and Science Teacher

St Joseph’s College, Toowoomba

Attending a Catholic school myself, I knew that I shared the same values but, becoming a member of staff, I wondered how it would be with the students. They are a credit to St Joseph’s. They have been friendly and so well behaved – this means I can focus on teaching them and they love the learning. The values base of the College is obvious. I can see this in the other staff and definitely in the way the students interact with everyone.

Position of Leadership – Learning & Teaching

St Augustine’s School, Mossman

Cairns CES is really supportive. They’ve always tapped me on the shoulder and said, “What’s the next step for you?” Working and choosing to be in the community of a Catholic school has made a huge difference in mine and my children’s lives. Moving from working experience in State schools, I just find that the difference of the community feel, the spiritual connection and traditional values as well are really important for us.

Michael Ball

Principal

Mater Dei Primary School, Toowoomba

Toowoomba Catholic Schools have delivered in spades what I had heard about and was looking for when making this move. I have had such a warm welcome. The professionalism and dedication of staff at Mater Dei is exceptional. There is a tangible focus on people and this aligns with what I think is important. The students and parents too have a real team approach to education; this strength of community is wonderful to be a part of.
